Leighton is ONE!!!

Where has this year gone?? Our little baby is now a toddler!!!

Before we left, we let Leighton open up a few presents early. She's so excited!

After the party, Leighton crashed! But she was so good the whole way through! Her nap ended up being almost 4 hours long! And yes, she still went to bed that night!

After the nap, she was ready to help Daddy put together one of her new toys.

The party was such a success! It was so great seeing all our closest family and friends all together in one place. It meant so much to us that everyone could come for Leighton's party. We look forward to seeing everyone again soon! And always stay posted for more pictures!!

Sorry for the long hiatus... I was in Alabama for almost 3 weeks visiting with family. And since I've been back, I've been lazy. Oh, and while in Alabama, our nice camera was stolen, so we haven't been taking as many pictures as before. :(

Leighton's 1st birthday is in just little over a week now. I can't believe it!!! Where has the time gone?! She seems more like a toddler to us now than a little baby. She's learning something new every few days and never ceases to amaze us. Her physical therapist just told us last week that she is exactly where she expects her to be, which is around a 10-11 month old. Not too bad for being almost 3 months early! Her favorite thing to do is stand up. The moment you put her down, she finds the ottoman, couch, exer-saucer, your leg, anything she can find to stand up. Her crawling is now perfected and she's doing it with such speed. When you walk and hold her hands, she'll walk with you. We're now working on her walking while only holding one hand. Based on what she's seen, her therapist says she'll probably be walking in a month! She's eating finger foods 3 times a day now, and slowing down off the bottle. We're still working on the sippy cup, but I'm sure she'll have that down in a few weeks at least.

She's experienced a few firsts lately. Here are some of the latest of Leighton:

This is the first time sitting in a shopping cart. We were at Publix in Montgomery on Zelda Rd. on 6/22/10.

Sitting in a restaurant highchair for the first time. We were at El Porton in Germantown, TN on 7/5/10.

Her Aunt Sissy and I were teaching her how to shop! We were at Target in Cordova, TN on 7/12/10.
