Splash Park Take 2

We took Leighton back to the Splash Park for round 2. This time Daddy got to come! We were hoping that she would be a little braver, but quite the contrary, she might have been even more afraid! We had to hold her the entire time and she wouldn't do the slide at all. Oh well, we'll just keep taking her back. And hopefully the swim lessons we'll be taking in July will help open her up even more.

Oh, and I was so proud of her for wanting to wear her bow! She actually went to her bow drawer and asked to wear it! And then she kept it on the whole time! :)

22 Month Bear Pic

Only 2 more months of bear pics!! I'm amazed at how much she's changed in just this last month. She really looks like a little girl now and not just a toddler.
"Talking." haha

Our favorite. :)
Our little burrito.

Splash Park

We just discovered our gym has a splash park. It's the perfect water park for Leighton! We just need to get her over being a scaredy-cat. :)

She loved climbing the stairs to the slide all by herself, but once she got to the top, she wanted back down. Silly girl!

Touch-A-Truck

Opelika had a Touch-a-Truck event downtown the weekend of 5/14/11. I wish we had known about it sooner, since we just happened upon it when it was about to be over. It was such a neat event for little ones. There were tow trucks, police cars, firetrucks, golf carts, construction equipment, etc.

Leighton especially loved the police car. I'm sure you can imagine so, with all the buttons inside! She looks so excited to be driving a big car!

This one should make Bunky happy.

She looks so tiny in a big piece of construction equipment!

End of Year Preschool Program

Leighton's 1st year at preschool came to an end on May 19. They had an end of the year program, and the one year olds even got to perform a song! They did the Teddy Bear song with motions. Our shy little girl just stood there, but at least she didn't cry! :)

Below are her sweet teachers Ms. Linda and Ms. Julie. They fell in love w/ Leighton (who wouldn't?!) and asked if she could stay back. Actually, we're wondering if we should... I think at this point, there's no harm in sending her on to the 2 year old class, since this is preschool, but it got us thinking. She was due in Oct, and by being early this would put her being the youngest in her class, instead of the oldest. We'll just have to wait and see how she progresses, but I think she'll be just fine. :)
