Logan's 3 Month Bear Pics

My sweet boy is now 11 lbs 4 oz and 23.5 in long!  He's sort of grown out of his "witching hour."  He's still waking up once a night though, but his stretches are getting longer.  Here's my sweet boy!

Logan Meets His Cousins

The day after Thanksgiving, the family came together at my Aunt Kelly and Uncle Walt's house in Birmingham. We celebrated my cousin, Jay's son, Daniel's 1st birthday and my other cousin Brett and his wife Kelly's baby shower. We have become quite a crowd now with all our spouses and now 4 children. We also had to do the new cousin line-up. Poor Logan wasn't exactly in the mood. The little guy can't sit up yet, so we had to use the bumbo for him. I can't wait to see the next one!

Thanksgiving 2011

Since Logan was still a newborn, we decided to host Thanksgiving at our house this year.  Jonathan's family and my dad and stepmother were there as well.  As usual, Logan fell asleep in the middle of it all! We tried a couple new recipes for the turkey and dressing and I will definitely be doing them again!  Because we didn't have a huge crowd, we only purchased a turkey breast and leg, so we cooked them in the crock pot with some chicken stock.  Wow, it was the juiciest turkey I'd ever had!!  Then, for the dressing, I also cooked it in the crock pot, using this recipe - Crockin' Girls dressing recipe.  I just didn't add the chicken like it calls for since we had the turkey.  If you're in need of a dressing recipe, I definitely recommend this one!  It was so moist and flavorful.  I'll definitely be starting a tradition with this one. Besides the usual casseroles, I also tried this cranberry almond salad, which turned out really well as well!  Here are some pictures of our day!

I was so happy to use the pumpkin and turkey that my Grandmother made as our tables' centerpieces.

Logan with all the yummy food!  Too bad he couldn't eat any of it!

I promise I didn't intend for us to be coordinating so well for the family picture.

Zoo Trip!

We decided to take Leighton to the Montgomery Zoo bc it had been a very long time since she had been to any zoo.  This was only her second time going (here's the post about her 1st) and Logan's 1st time!  It turned out to be a really pretty day to be outside and surprisingly, it wasn't too crowded.  It had been about 13 years since I last went to the MGM zoo.  I went at the end of 10th grade to hear Edwin McCain.  Dawson's Creek, anyone?!  That goes way back! A lot had changed at the zoo, like the new park area, which of course Leighton loved, but the one thing that hadn't was mine and Jonathan's favorite spot as kids - the spider monkeys!  Leighton really enjoyed those too, since she knows all about monkeys, thanks to Boots!  Logan was a very good boy in his stroller, until he got a little fussy.  A little baby carrying was all he needed, and then he was just fine.  Here are some pictures of our trip!

October Review

We had a very busy month of my birthday, birthday parties, school party, pumpkin patch, Fall festivals, booboos, and dentist appointments.  Having a newborn sure didn't slow us down any.  It's such a change from when Leighton was a newborn and we were quarantined for 6 months.  It's a good thing Logan wasn't as early, because I don't know how we could slow down!  Things might be a little hectic, but we really do love our busy schedules.  It adds some excitement to our lives!  Here are some random shots through the month:
10/9/11 - 3 days after his due date, but 1 month old.

10/12/11 - Mommy trying him out in the backpack
