Weekend Get-Away to St. Louis

Parents need a little time away every now and then, so Jonathan and I decided to redeem the Hilton points we've accumulated and take a free (hotel) trip to St. Louis. We had a blast and would definitely love to go back, but I can't be away from Leighton for that long again. We missed that little girl so much!!

First time in Missouri! We stopped at Lambert's in Sikeston, MO on the way up. Now I've been to this one and the one in Foley, AL.

10 Month Bear Pictures

Leighton amazes us everyday. It's so hard to believe that she's already 10 months! It seems like she's doing something new every other day; it's so hard to keep up with her! She's now pulling herself up to her feet, she'll walk several steps when you hold her hand, she's sitting up for very long periods of time, she'll get herself up on her knees and sit there for a while, she's cutting her two front teeth now, she rolls her tongue over (just like her Mommy!), she gives you the tightest neck hugs, and she'll smile so big when she sees the camera. She's just the happiest, sweetest baby! We're so thankful God chose us to be her parents!!

Brett & Kelly's Wedding

Two weekends ago we went down to Auburn for my cousin Brett's wedding. We were really looking forward to going down since we were seeing a lot of family who hadn't even met Leighton yet.

Sitting Up!

She's been sitting for longer periods of time now. It seems like every week now she's doing something more. Just a few days ago, we had to finally lower her crib since we spotted her in the video monitor up on her knees with both her hands and chin on the rail. She's just growing so fast!

Leighton's Baptism & Mother's Day

This weekend was a very special one since it was not only my first Mother's Day, but Leighton was baptized. She was so good and we couldn't have been more proud of her! God has blessed us with such a perfect daughter. Here are some of the pictures from the weekend.

I didn't plan on being in any pictures, so this isn't the best of me, but Leighton is of course really cute in it!

One Tough Cookie

The nursery workers told us the story last night of how our little petite girl brought this little boy to tears. She was on the floor crawling around when she spotted a picture of a cookie on this boy's bib still wrapped around his neck. Her little eyes just lit up and she scooted as fast as she could to reach it. Once she was there, she proceeded to yank on his bib, making the poor little boy cry! The ironic thing about the whole story was that not only was the little boy much bigger than her, but the bib read, "One Tough Cookie." lol So don't let her size (and cuteness) fool you! She's already picking on the other kids! What are we going to do with her?! I do have to admit that she's reached the stage of pulling on my hair (she loves it and it hurts!) and crying when you take something she wants away from her, but all in all I still think it's cute!
